THE NEED FOR PATIENCE UNTO PERFECTION OF THE PROMISE

Jam 5:7-11

>The base of this is that patience is the fruit of the Holy Spirit Gal 5:22. Therefore it’s expected of all of us to develop patience

>Our God is the God of all patience 2Pet 3:8

*And it’s a lie that patience will slow you you down

>Patience is important for manifestation of God’s promise Heb 10:36

>Patience for a godly character Rom 5:3-4, Jam 1:3-4

>Patience is needed in prayer Luk 18:1

*Moses kept on praying through the 10 plagues

>Patience is required for the Word study

HOW TO KNOW YOU ARE IMPATIENT.

Obstacles to fulfillment of God’s promise

1. Anger Ecc 7:8-9

>Simeon and Levi didn’t receive their father’s blessing Gen 49:5-7

*Moses kinda started with anger and the same anger ended his ministry Exo 2:11

>Surrender your anger to the Holy Spirit Eph 4:26.

*At least direct it into spiritual warfare Eph 6

2. Murmuring

>For the Lord to swear that they won’t make it, then it was bad. Psa 95:8-11, Exo 16:2

>A nagging wife breaks her own marriage. So is the complaining girlfriend

>>This kind of impatience goes hand in hand with unbelief

3. Fornication

>>If you were patient, you would have waited.

*Esau shows that fornication and the love of food are not far apart. What joins them together is impatience Heb 12:16

*Joseph’s character was tested

4. Rash decisions

Esau again Gen 25:32

>Saul’s ministry started with a rash decision and ended with a series of rash decisions 1Sam 8:4-7

-Offering a sacrifice 1Sam 13:8-10

-A rash oath during a war 1Sam 14:24

-Spared the Amalekites 1 Sam 15:20

5. Unbearable debts

>I’m not very financially literate, but many unbearable debts can be avoided with patience

*The debt of sin which is death Jam 1:13-15

*Ishmael(s) cripple our destiny Gen 16

In other words, Sarai said let’s go and borrow from Hagar
