The Authority of the LORD

Genesis 8:1-17

I. Jesus has Authority.

Ill: In college I went and saw the President’s own Marine band. When they gave a time to meet the principal players, I sprinted to the Principal Alto and asked questions as long as they would let me. I knew he had authority in an area that I was looking for authority.

Jesus has authority as a priest

Jesus is the better priest.

He can make clean, others can only declare clean.

Jesus command to go to the priests reveals the nature of the law and the process of becoming clean

The man demonstrates faith in his words.

“If you please…”

This shows that the man has no doubt that Jesus can heal him

II. The Faithful believe in his authority.

Ill: I had to hear a sermon by my preaching professor before I would ask him his opinion on one of my sermons.

III. Those, who see his authority, serve and follow him.

IV. He will make clean all the faithful.
