Why do I feel the INTENSE PULL of the enemy (more today than ever)?
People are more spiritual today than ever.
Just not toward a sovereign God!
Someone asked me the other day, “Do you think the second coming is going to happen soon?”
The Pull of the enemy is predominantly found in 3 areas of a persons life.
In their habits. Spiritual Habits
Greek word: ETHOS
12 times in scripture
Means: custom or rituals
Habits are good (Luke 2:42And when he was twelve years old, they went up according to custom.”)
Jesus had a habit of praying (Luke 22:39And he came out and went, as was his custom, to the Mount of Olives, and the disciples followed him.”)
Bad Habits (Hebrews 10:25not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.”)
Habits become “unknown routine acts performed naturally
Spiritual Hunger
Greek word: PEINAO
23 times in scripture
Means: Hunger/ be hungry
Hunger and thirst for righteousness (LIFE)
Matthew 5:6 ““Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.”)
There will come a time when we hunger no more ....
(Revelation 7:15-16Therefore they are before the throne of God, and serve him day and night in his temple; and he who sits on the throne will shelter them with his presence. They shall hunger no more, neither thirst anymore; the sun shall not strike them, nor any scorching heat.”)
Hunger is a desire to fill a craving!
Spiritual Heart
Greek - KARDIA
Means: the conscience / the inner part
It’s where our treasure is .... (Matthew 6:21For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”)
Whats in our hearts will flow out of our mouths ....
Matthew 12:34 (“You brood of vipers! How can you speak good, when you are evil? For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.”)
Matthew 15:18 (“But what comes out of the mouth proceeds from the heart, and this defiles a person.
Love for the Father should be .... Matthew 22:37 (“And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.”)
