Santiago 4:1–8 (RVR60)

1 ¿De dónde vienen las guerras y los pleitos entre vosotros? ¿No es de vuestras pasiones, las cuales combaten en vuestros miembros? 2 Codiciáis, y no tenéis; matáis y ardéis de envidia, y no podéis alcanzar; combatís y lucháis, pero no tenéis lo que deseáis, porque no pedís. 3 Pedís, y no recibís, porque pedís mal, para gastar en vuestros deleites. 4 ¡Oh almas adúlteras! ¿No sabéis que la amistad del mundo es enemistad contra Dios? Cualquiera, pues, que quiera ser amigo del mundo, se constituye enemigo de Dios. 5 ¿O pensáis que la Escritura dice en vano: El Espíritu que él ha hecho morar en nosotros nos anhela celosamente? 6 Pero él da mayor gracia. Por esto dice: Dios resiste a los soberbios, y da gracia a los humildes. 7 Someteos, pues, a Dios; resistid al diablo, y huirá de vosotros. 8 Acercaos a Dios, y él se acercará a vosotros. Pecadores, limpiad las manos; y vosotros los de doble ánimo, purificad vuestros corazones.

1 Where do wars and fights come from among you? Do they not come from your desires for pleasure that war in your members? 2 You lust and do not have. You murder and covet and cannot obtain. You fight and war. Yet you do not have because you do not ask. 3 You ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss, that you may spend it on your pleasures. 4 Adulterers and adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God. 5 Or do you think that the Scripture says in vain, “The Spirit who dwells in us yearns jealously”? 6 But He gives more grace. Therefore He says:“God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble.”7 Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. 8 Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.

Propósito: Fijar cuál es la clase de comunión que tenemos con Dios, si es que la tenemos.

Purpose: To establish what kind of communion we have with God, if we have it.

Relación: Conexión, correspondencia, trato, comunicación de alguien con otra persona.

Relationship: Connection, correspondence, treatment, communication of someone with another person.

Relación natural | Natural relationship

-Dios mantiene una relación natural con Su creación, a través del cuidado que manifiesta.

-God maintains a natural relationship with His creation, through the care He manifests.

-La Biblia dice en el libro de Hebreos que Dios “sustenta todas las cosas con la palabra de su poder”.

-The Bible says in the book of Hebrews that God “upholds all things by the word of his power.”

-El Señor dijo que Dios “hace salir su sol sobre malos y buenos, y que hace llover sobre justos e injustos”.

-The Lord said that God “makes his sun rise on the evil and the good, and that he makes it rain on the just and the unjust.”

Salmo 145:15–18 (RVR60)

15 Los ojos de todos esperan en ti, Y tú les das su comida a su tiempo.

16 Abres tu mano, Y colmas de bendición a todo ser viviente.

17 Justo es Jehová en todos sus caminos, Y misericordioso en todas sus obras.

18 Cercano está Jehová a todos los que le invocan, A todos los que le invocan de veras.

Psalm 145:15–18 (NKJV)

15 The eyes of all look expectantly to You, And You give them their food in due season.

16 You open Your hand And satisfy the desire of every living thing.

17 The Lord is righteous in all His ways, Gracious in all His works.

18 The Lord is near to all who call upon Him, To all who call upon Him in truth.

-Pero no debemos confundir esta responsabilidad que Dios tiene con su creación con una relación.

-But we must not confuse this responsibility that God has with his creation with a relationship.

-Una cosa es que Dios en su misericordia me sustente, y otra que El apruebe mis acciones.

-It is one thing for God to sustain me in His mercy, and another for Him to approve my actions.

-Una cosa es que aceptemos que El sea Dios, y otra que sea “mi” Dios.

-It is one thing for us to accept that He is God, and another that he is “my” God.

-El rey Nabucodonosor reconoció a Dios, pero no se convirtió a El.

-King Nebuchadnezzar recognized God, but did not convert to Him.

2 Quiero que todos conozcan las señales milagrosas y las maravillas que el Dios Altísimo ha realizado en mi favor.

3 ¡Cuán grandiosas son sus señales y cuán poderosas sus maravillas! Su reino durará para siempre, y su dominio por todas las generaciones.

2 “I want you all to know about the miraculous signs and wonders the Most High God has performed for me.

Condiciones de una relación con Dios | Condicions of a relationship with God

-Veamos cuatro condiciones de nuestra relación con Dios:

-Let’s look at four conditions of our relationship with God:

1. Enemigos de Dios | Enemies of God

-Esta es la condición o el estado más común en cuanto a la relación con Dios.

-This is the most common condition or state regarding the relationship with God.

-Muchos confunden la misericordia de Dios con la amistad con Dios. No se dan cuenta que su pecado los ha separado de Dios.

-Many confuse God's mercy with friendship with God. They do not realize that their sin has separated them from God.

-El Señor rompió la comunión con el hombre pecador cuando lo expulsó del huerto del Edén.

-The Lord broke communion with sinful man when he expelled him from the Garden of Eden.

-La Biblia es enfática al afirmar que todo aquel que es amigo del pecado, se constituye en enemigo de Dios.

-The Bible is emphatic in stating that everyone who is a friend of sin becomes an enemy of God.

Salmo 7:11–12 (RVR60)

11 Dios es juez justo, Y Dios está airado contra el impío todos los días.

12 Si no se arrepiente, él afilará su espada; Armado tiene ya su arco, y lo ha preparado.

11 God is a just judge, And God is angry with the wicked every day.

12 If he does not turn back, He will sharpen His sword; He bends His bow and makes it ready.

Isaías 59:1–2 (RVR60)

1 He aquí que no se ha acortado la mano de Jehová para salvar, ni se ha agravado su oído para oír;

2 pero vuestras iniquidades han hecho división entre vosotros y vuestro Dios, y vuestros pecados han hecho ocultar de vosotros su rostro para no oír.

1 Behold, the Lord’s hand is not shortened, That it cannot save; Nor His ear heavy, That it cannot hear.

2 But your iniquities have separated you from your God; And your sins have hidden His face from you, So that He will not hear.

-El pecado es la pared divisoria entre Dios y el hombre.

-Sin is the dividing wall between God and man.

‌-Ahora, surge la pregunta: ¿Porqué Dios no tolera el pecado? Porque el pecado es la muestra de la rebelión contra la voluntad de Dios.

-Now, the question arises: Why does God not tolerate sin? Because sin is the sign of rebellion against the will of God.

1º Samuel 15:22–23 (NTV)

22 ¿Qué es lo que más le agrada al Señor: tus ofrendas quemadas y sacrificios, o que obedezcas a su voz? ¡Escucha! La obediencia es mejor que el sacrificio, y la sumisión es mejor que ofrecer la grasa de carneros.

23 La rebelión es tan pecaminosa como la hechicería, y la terquedad, tan mala como rendir culto a ídolos…

1º Samuel 15:22–23 (NLT)

22 But Samuel replied, “What is more pleasing to the Lord: your burnt offerings and sacrifices or your obedience to his voice? Listen! Obedience is better than sacrifice, and submission is better than offering the fat of rams.

23 Rebellion is as sinful as witchcraft, and stubbornness as bad as worshiping idols…

La reconciliación | The reconciliation

-Para que el hombre pueda tener una relación con Dios, se hace necesaria una reconciliación.

-In order for man to have a relationship with God, reconciliation is necessary.

-Pero el ser humano no ha estado interesado en reconciliarse con Dios. Es por eso que Dios ha tomado la iniciativa de la reconciliación.

-But human beings have not been interested in reconciling with God. That is why God has taken the initiative of reconciliation.

-La reconciliación es la doctrina que enseña la acción de Dios para anular la enemistad que mantiene el ser humano separado de Su creador.

-Reconciliation is the doctrine that teaches God's action to annul the enmity that keeps the human being separated from his creator.

-La reconciliación es el restablecimiento de la amistad del hombre con Dios, efectuada a través de Jesucristo.

-Reconciliation is the reestablishment of man's friendship with God, carried out through Jesus Christ.

-La Biblia nos dice que “Dios estaba en Cristo reconciliando consigo al mundo”. Por la cruz, Cristo Jesús quitó el pecado, destruyó la enemistad, estableció la paz y reconcilió a los hombres.

-The Bible tells us that “God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself.” Through the cross, Christ Jesus took away sin, destroyed enmity, established peace, and reconciled men.

-Por causa del pecado del hombre, la justicia y la santidad de Dios tenían que ser vindicadas. Gracias al sacrificio de Cristo en la cruz, la ley de Dios quedó cumplida y Su justicia fue satisfecha y vindicada.

-Because of man's sin, the justice and holiness of God had to be vindicated. Thanks to Christ's sacrifice on the cross, God's law was fulfilled and his justice was satisfied and vindicated.

-La reconciliación es la invitación de Dios al ser humano para estar en paz y establecer una relación.

-Reconciliation is God's invitation to human beings to be at peace and establish a relationship.

Romanos 5:8–10 (RVR60)

8 Mas Dios muestra su amor para con nosotros, en que siendo aún pecadores, Cristo murió por nosotros.

9 Pues mucho más, estando ya justificados en su sangre, por él seremos salvos de la ira.

10 Porque si siendo enemigos, fuimos reconciliados con Dios por la muerte de su Hijo, mucho más, estando reconciliados, seremos salvos por su vida.

Romans 5:8–10 (NKJV)

8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

9 Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him.

10 For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life.

-Pero, ¿Qué es lo que hizo posible esta reconciliación? El hecho de que Jesucristo llevó en la cruz todas las acusaciones que había contra nosotros.

-But, what made this reconciliation possible? The fact that Jesus Christ bore all the accusations against us on the cross.

Colosenses 1:20–22 (NTV)

20 y por medio de él, Dios reconcilió consigo todas las cosas. Hizo la paz con todo lo que existe en el cielo y en la tierra, por medio de la sangre de Cristo en la cruz.

21 Eso los incluye a ustedes, que antes estaban lejos de Dios. Eran sus enemigos, estaban separados de él por sus malos pensamientos y acciones;

22 pero ahora él los reconcilió consigo mediante la muerte de Cristo en su cuerpo físico. Como resultado, los ha trasladado a su propia presencia, y ahora ustedes son santos, libres de culpa y pueden presentarse delante de él sin ninguna falta.

Colossians 1:20–22 (NLT)

20 and through him God reconciled everything to himself. He made peace with everything in heaven and on earth by means of Christ’s blood on the cross.

21 This includes you who were once far away from God. You were his enemies, separated from him by your evil thoughts and actions.

22 Yet now he has reconciled you to himself through the death of Christ in his physical body. As a result, he has brought you into his own presence, and you are holy and blameless as you stand before him without a single fault.

Gracias a la reconciliación que Dios nos ofrece, solo nos resta arrepentirnos de nuestros pecados y aceptar por fe la obra que Dios ha hecho por medio del sacrificio de Cristo Jesús.

Thanks to the reconciliation that God offers us, we only have to repent of our sins and accept by faith the work that God has done through the sacrifice of Christ Jesus.

‌Acerquémonos a Dios, y El se acercará a nosotros.

Let us draw near to God, and He will draw near to us.
