9 Aquella luz verdadera, que alumbra a todo hombre, venía a este mundo.

Propósito: Fijar cuál es la clase de comunión que tenemos con Dios, si es que la tenemos.

Purpose: To establish what kind of communion we have with God, if we have it.

-We saw the second condition in the relationship with God; friends of God.

-Jesús dejó de llamar “siervos” a sus discípulos, y una vez que el Señor enseñó a Sus discípulos la importancia de estar unidos a El y de permanecer en esa unión con El, es cuando les ofreció su relación de amistad.

-Jesus stopped calling his disciples “servants,” and once the Lord taught His disciples the importance of being united to Him and remaining in that union with Him, that is when He offered them his relationship of friendship.

-Lo que hace que Dios nos acepte como sus amigos es la fe, la confianza en Su palabra.

-What makes God accept us as his friends is faith, trust in his word.

-La fe es el acto de creer y recibir lo que Dios ha revelado y lo que impulsa la obediencia de Su palabra.

-Faith is the act of believing and receiving what God has revealed and what drives obedience to his word.

-La amistad con Dios trae dirección y revelación

-Friendship with God brings direction and revelation.

Condiciones de una relación con Dios | Conditions of a relationship with God

-La tercera condición de nuestra relación con Dios es la de ser “hechos” hijos de Dios :

3. Hijos de Dios | Children of God

-Hay dos conceptos que la Biblia presente respecto a la expresión “hijos de Dios”. El concepto presentado en el Antiguo Testamento nos habla del los “hijos creados”; y el Nuevo Testamento expone el tema de los “hijos engendrados”.

-There are two concepts that the Bible presents regarding the expression “children of God.” The concept presented in the Old Testament tells us about the “created sons”; and the New Testament expounds the theme of “begotten children.”

-¿Cuál es la diferencia semántica (significado) entre ambos?:

-What is the semantic difference (meaning) between the two?:

Crear: Es producir algo de la nada. Traer a la existencia.

Create: It is producing something from nothing. Bring into existence.

Engendrar: Generación de una vida dentro de otra.

Engender: Generation of life within another.

-Cuando se habla de “hijos creados” se refiere a una especie biológica y material. Y cuando se refiere a “hijos engendrados”, se trata de especie espiritual.

-When talking about “created children” it refers to a biological and physical species. And when it refers to “begotten children,” it is a spiritual species.

-Ambos actos son potestativos solo de Dios.

-Both acts are potestative only of God.

Hijos creados | Created children

-Son todas las criaturas comprendidas en el conjunto de la creación. (Seres vivos, ángeles, seres humanos).

-They are all the creatures included in the whole of creation. (Living beings, angels, human beings).

6 Un día vinieron a presentarse delante de Jehová los hijos de Dios, entre los cuales vino también Satanás.

6 Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan also came among them.

-En este sentido, todos somos hijos de Dios; es decir, criaturas de Dios.

-In this sense, we are all children of God; that is, creatures of God.

Hijos engendrados | Begotten children

-Son todos aquellos que han experimentado una regeneración en sus mentes y en sus conciencias, como efecto de la palabra de Dios.

-They are all those who have experienced regeneration in their minds and consciences, as an effect of the word of God.

1 Pedro 1:22–23 (RVC)

22 Y ahora, ya que se han purificado mediante su obediencia a la verdad, para amar sinceramente a sus hermanos, ámense los unos a los otros de todo corazón,

23 pues ustedes han nacido de nuevo, y no de una simiente perecedera, sino de una simiente imperecedera, por la palabra de Dios que vive y permanece para siempre.

22 Now that you have purified yourselves by obeying the truth so that you have sincere love for each other, love one another deeply, from the heart.

23 For you have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, through the living and enduring word of God.

La regeneración | The regeneration

-Es la doctrina que enseña la obra de Dios en el creyente, el nuevo nacimiento.

-It is the doctrine that teaches the work of God in the believer, the new birth.

-El nuevo nacimiento o regeneración es el cambio de naturaleza en una persona producido por el Espíritu de Dios.

-The new birth or regeneration is the change of nature in a person produced by the Spirit of God.

-En esta obra, Dios le comunica a quien cree una vida nueva.

-In this work, God communicates a new life to whoever creates.

-La regeneración no “reforma” sino que “transforma” a la persona de su estado moral y espiritual.

-Regeneration does not “reform” but “transforms” the person from his moral and spiritual state.

-Es necesario que una persona “nazca de nuevo” para poder recibir las cosas de Dios, y para poder entrar en el reino de Dios. Es decir, para poder vivir en obediencia completa a la voluntad de Dios.

-It is necessary for a person to be “born again” to be able to receive the things of God, and to be able to enter the kingdom of God. That is, to be able to live in complete obedience to the will of God.

-El Señor dijo: “ustedes son mis amigos, si hacen lo que les digo”. Pero para poder obedecer a Dios, hay que “nacer de nuevo”.

-The Lord said: “You are my friends, if you do what I tell you.” But in order to obey God, you must be “born again.”

Como se nace de nuevo | How to be born again

-Se nace de nuevo cuando se oye y se recibe la palabra de Dios. Esa es la manera como Dios engendra en nosotros una nueva vida, una vida que no está contaminada de pecado.

-You are born again when you hear and receive the word of God. That is the way God generates in us a new life, a life that is not contaminated by sin.

2 Pedro 1:3–4 (NTV)

3 Mediante su divino poder, Dios nos ha dado todo lo que necesitamos para llevar una vida de rectitud. Todo esto lo recibimos al llegar a conocer a aquel que nos llamó por medio de su maravillosa gloria y excelencia;

4 y debido a su gloria y excelencia, nos ha dado grandes y preciosas promesas. Estas promesas hacen posible que ustedes participen de la naturaleza divina y escapen de la corrupción del mundo, causada por los deseos humanos.

3 By his divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know him, the one who called us to himself by means of his marvelous glory and excellence.

4 And because of his glory and excellence, he has given us great and precious promises. These are the promises that enable you to share his divine nature and escape the world’s corruption caused by human desires.

-La palabra de Dios es comparada a una semilla, que cuando es “sembrada en nuestra mente”, brota una “planta” que produce el fruto de acuerdo a su naturaleza: El fruto del Espíritu de Dios.

-The word of God is compared to a seed, which when “sown in our mind”, sprouts a “plant” that produces fruit according to its nature: The fruit of the Spirit of God.

Romanos 6:17–22 (NVI)

17 Pero gracias a Dios que, aunque antes eran esclavos del pecado, ya se han sometido de corazón a la enseñanza que les fue transmitida.

18 En efecto, habiendo sido liberados del pecado, ahora son ustedes esclavos de la justicia.

19 Hablo en términos humanos, por las limitaciones de su naturaleza humana. Antes ofrecían ustedes los miembros de su cuerpo para servir a la impureza, que lleva más y más a la maldad; ofrézcanlos ahora para servir a la justicia que lleva a la santidad.

17 But thanks be to God that, though you used to be slaves to sin, you have come to obey from your heart the pattern of teaching that has now claimed your allegiance.

19 I am using an example from everyday life because of your human limitations. Just as you used to offer yourselves as slaves to impurity and to ever-increasing wickedness, so now offer yourselves as slaves to righteousness leading to holiness.

20 When you were slaves to sin, you were free from the control of righteousness.

21 What benefit did you reap at that time from the things you are now ashamed of? Those things result in death!

22 But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves of God, the benefit you reap leads to holiness, and the result is eternal life.

Características de los hijos engendrados de Dios | Characteristics of the begotten children of God

-Ser hijos de Dios por regeneración es una relación especial y única con Dios, porque nos hace participantes de todos los derechos y privilegios de nuestro Padre.

-Being children of God by regeneration is a special and unique relationship with God, because it makes us participants in all the rights and privileges of our Father.

Los hijos de Dios son guardados y sustentados por El

God's children are kept and sustained by Him

Los hijos de Dios son guiados por el Espíritu de Dios

Children of God are guided by the Spirit of God

Los hijos de Dios no practican el pecado

God's children do not practice sin

Los hijos de Dios son herederos de la vida eterna

The children of God are heirs of eternal life

4 Pero: «Cuando Dios nuestro Salvador dio a conocer su bondad y amor,

Los hijos de Dios serán perfectos, porque serán transformados de manera semejante a la imagen de Cristo.

The children of God will be perfect, because they will be transformed into the image of Christ.

1 Mirad cuál amor nos ha dado el Padre, para que seamos llamados hijos de Dios; por esto el mundo no nos conoce, porque no le conoció a él.

2 Amados, ahora somos hijos de Dios, y aún no se ha manifestado lo que hemos de ser; pero sabemos que cuando él se manifieste, seremos semejantes a él, porque le veremos tal como él es.

1 Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God! Therefore the world does not know us, because it did not know Him.

-¿Qué quiso decir Juan con “seremos semejantes a él?

-What did John mean by “we will be like him?”

-No quiso decir que seremos iguales a Cristo en su divinidad, pero sí seremos semejantes a él en su perfección moral.

-He did not mean that we will be equal to Christ in his divinity, but we will be similar to him in his moral perfection.

-La obra de Dios en Cristo no solo es para que seamos sus amigos, sino para hacernos sus hijos.

-The work of God in Christ is not only for us to be his friends, but to make us his children.
