Josué 21:43–45 (RVR60)

43 De esta manera dio Jehová a Israel toda la tierra que había jurado dar a sus padres, y la poseyeron y habitaron en ella.

44 Y Jehová les dio reposo alrededor, conforme a todo lo que había jurado a sus padres; y ninguno de todos sus enemigos pudo hacerles frente, porque Jehová entregó en sus manos a todos sus enemigos.

45 No faltó palabra de todas las buenas promesas que Jehová había hecho a la casa de Israel; todo se cumplió.

Joshua 21:43–45 (NKJV)

43 So the Lord gave to Israel all the land of which He had sworn to give to their fathers, and they took possession of it and dwelt in it.

44 The Lord gave them rest all around, according to all that He had sworn to their fathers. And not a man of all their enemies stood against them; the Lord delivered all their enemies into their hand.

45 Not a word failed of any good thing which the Lord had spoken to the house of Israel. All came to pass.

Propósito: Aprender cómo mantener una actitud victoriosa en el transcurso de nuestra vida cristiana.

Purpose: To learn how to maintain a victorious attitude throughout our Christian life.

Debido a que nuestra profesión de la fe en Cristo es para el resto de la vida, se presentas a través del tiempo toda clase de situaciones, en las que se nos confronta nuestra fe.

Because our profession of faith in Christ is for the rest of our lives, all kinds of situations arise over time in which our faith is challenged.

-La vida cristiana nos se trata de no tener dificultades, sino de vencerlas y de madurar y fortalecer nuestro carácter espiritual.

-Christian life is not about having difficulties, but about overcoming them and maturing and strengthening our spiritual character.

Efesios 6:10–13 (NTV)

10 Una palabra final: sean fuertes en el Señor y en su gran poder.

11 Pónganse toda la armadura de Dios para poder mantenerse firmes contra todas las estrategias del diablo.

12 Pues no luchamos contra enemigos de carne y hueso, sino contra gobernadores malignos y autoridades del mundo invisible, contra fuerzas poderosas de este mundo tenebroso y contra espíritus malignos de los lugares celestiales.

13 Por lo tanto, pónganse todas las piezas de la armadura de Dios para poder resistir al enemigo en el tiempo del mal. Así, después de la batalla, todavía seguirán de pie, firmes.

10 A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.

11 Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil.

12 For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.

13 Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm.

El libro de Josué | The book of Joshua

-Para llevar a cabo el propósito de esta serie, haremos un estudio del libro de Josué.

-To carry out the purpose of this series, we will do a study of the book of Joshua.

-El AT contiene historias y experiencias que tienen que ver mayormente con el trato de Dios con Israel. Debemos leerlo, no queriendo repetir esas experiencias, pero sí descubriendo los principios que son útiles para nuestra fe en nuestra relación con Dios cuya dirección la encontramos en el NT.

-The Old Testament contains stories and experiences that have to do mostly with God's dealings with Israel. We should read it, not wanting to repeat those experiences, but rather discovering the principles that are useful for our faith in our relationship with God whose guidance we find in the New Testament.

-A través de esta serie, veremos porqué algunos no prosperan en su vida cristiana, y porqué a veces pasamos por pruebas y experimentamos fracasos.

-Through this series, we will see why some do not prosper in their christian life, and why we sometimes go through trials and experience failures.

-This book can be studied in parallel with the book of Ephesians. “In the Christian position, ‘the heavenly places’ can correspond to Canaan in the experience of Israel.

In both books there is conflict, failure, but also victory, rest and possession.”

Cuatro factores importantes para la victoria | Four factors for victory

La promesa de parte de Dios | The promise from God

La presencia de Dios | The presence of God

La ley de Dios | The law of God

La dirección de Dios (por medio de Josué) | The direction of God (through Joshua

La actitud para seguir a Dios | The attitude to follow God

-En el primer capítulo se describe la actitud que debe tener toda persona que desea ver el cumplimiento de las promesas de Dios en su vida: valentía.

-In the first chapter describes the attitude that every person who wants to see the fulfillment of God's promises in his life must have: courage.

-La salvación no es algo que podamos obtener por nuestro esfuerzo, pero sí es algo que debemos mantener con valentía.

-Salvation is not something that we can obtain by our own effort, but it is something that we must maintain with courage.

-Nuestra valentía no depende de nuestras virtudes, sino de nuestra fe en la palabra de Dios, consiste en creer a lo que Dios dice, y actuar en consecuencia.

-Our courage does not depend on our virtues, but on our faith in the word of God. It consists of believing what God says and acting accordingly.

Hebreos 11:32–37 (RVR60)

32 Porque el tiempo me faltaría contando de Gedeón, de Barac, de Sansón, de Jefté, de David, así como de Samuel y de los profetas;

33 que por fe conquistaron reinos, hicieron justicia, alcanzaron promesas, taparon bocas de leones,

34 apagaron fuegos impetuosos, evitaron filo de espada, sacaron fuerzas de debilidad, se hicieron fuertes en batallas, pusieron en fuga ejércitos extranjeros.

35 Las mujeres recibieron sus muertos mediante resurrección; mas otros fueron atormentados, no aceptando el rescate, a fin de obtener mejor resurrección.

36 Otros experimentaron vituperios y azotes, y a más de esto prisiones y cárceles.

Hebrews 11:32–37 (NKJV)

32 And what more shall I say? For the time would fail me to tell of Gideon and Barak and Samson and Jephthah, also of David and Samuel and the prophets:

33 who through faith subdued kingdoms, worked righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions,

34 quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, became valiant in battle, turned to flight the armies of the aliens.

35 Women received their dead raised to life again. Others were tortured, not accepting deliverance, that they might obtain a better resurrection.

-El salmista dijo: “con la ayuda de Dios saldremos victoriosos” (Sal. 60.12 TLA).

-The psalmist said: "with God's help we will be victorious" (Psalm 60.12)

“Esfuérzate y sé valiente” | Be strong and courageous

-Vemos como a Josué se le encomienda 4 veces, y se le dice: “esfuérzate y sé valiente”. Las primeras 3 se las dice Dios, y la cuarta, se la dice el pueblo.

-We see how Joshua is told 4 times, and he is told: “be strong and courageous.” The first 3 times are told to him by God, and the fourth, by the people.

-No solo Dios espera que un cristiano sea valiente, también lo esperan los demás.

-Not only God expects a christian to be courageous, others do too.

La voz de Dios | The voice of God

-En el transcurso de la vida cristiana es muy importante aprender a escuchar la voz de Dios. En las diferentes experiencias escucharemos muchas voces, pero si queremos mantener la victoria, es primordial que escuchemos y sigamos la voz de Dios.

-In the course of Christian life it is very important to learn to listen to the voice of God. In different experiences we will hear many voices, but if we want to maintain victory, it is essential that we listen to and follow the voice of God.

-Miremos el ejemplo del capítulo 1:

-Let’s look at the example from chapter 1:

“Levántate y pasa este Jordán” (v.2)

“Arise, go over this Jordan” (v. 2)

“Yo os he entregado, como lo había dicho a Moisés, todo lugar que pisare la planta de vuestro pie” (v. 3)

“Every place that the sole of your foot will tread upon I have given you” (v. 3)

“Nadie te podrá hacer frente (nadie podrá derrotarte jamás)… no te dejaré, ni te desampararé” (v. 5)

“No man shall be able to stand before you (no one will ever be able to defeat you)… I will not leave you nor forsake you” (v. 5)

“No te apartes de la ley que se te mandó, no te apartes de ella ni a diestra ni a siniestra para que seas prosperado en todas las cosas que emprendas” (v. 7)

“You may observe to do according to all that was commanded you; do not turn from it to the right han or to the left, that you may prosper wherever you go” (v. 7)

“Se fuerte y valiente; no temas ni desmayes, porque Jehová tu Dios estará contigo en donde quiera que vayas” [respecto a la tierra prometida] (v. 9).

“Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go” [regarding the promised land] (v. 9)

-Es muy importante que sepamos cuál es la voz de Dios, cuál es su voluntad y cuál es su provisión para nosotros.

-It is very important that we know what God's voice is, what His will is, and what His provision is for us.

15 Por esta causa también yo, habiendo oído de vuestra fe en el Señor Jesús, y de vuestro amor para con todos los santos,

16 no ceso de dar gracias por vosotros, haciendo memoria de vosotros en mis oraciones,

17 para que el Dios de nuestro Señor Jesucristo, el Padre de gloria, os dé espíritu de sabiduría y de revelación en el conocimiento de él,

18 alumbrando los ojos de vuestro entendimiento, para que sepáis cuál es la esperanza a que él os ha llamado, y cuáles las riquezas de la gloria de su herencia en los santos,
