Proverbs 18:21 ESV
Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruits.
Mark 11:12–25 ESV
On the following day, when they came from Bethany, he was hungry. And seeing in the distance a fig tree in leaf, he went to see if he could find anything on it. When he came to it, he found nothing but leaves, for it was not the season for figs. And he said to it, “May no one ever eat fruit from you again.” And his disciples heard it. And they came to Jerusalem. And he entered the temple and began to drive out those who sold and those who bought in the temple, and he overturned the tables of the money-changers and the seats of those who sold pigeons. And he would not allow anyone to carry anything through the temple. And he was teaching them and saying to them, “Is it not written, ‘My house shall be called a house of prayer for all the nations’? But you have made it a den of robbers.” And the chief priests and the scribes heard it and were seeking a way to destroy him, for they feared him, because all the crowd was astonished at his teaching. And when evening came they went out of the city. As they passed by in the morning, they saw the fig tree withered away to its roots. And Peter remembered and said to him, “Rabbi, look! The fig tree that you cursed has withered.” And Jesus answered them, “Have faith in God. Truly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says will come to pass, it will be done for him. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. And whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone, so that your Father also who is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.”
I. What is the tongue
a. We all have an idea of what the tongue is
the physical tongue that is
b.
Helps us us to talk and pronounce certain words
we use the tongue for
talking
tasting
swallowing
So many things
B. And really all the tongues is is a series of muscles
a muscle with numerous nerves
covered with a dense layer of connective tissue
A layer of mucous membrane is what covers the muscle called the tongue
this thing is very complexed
AND YET SOME PEOPLE HAVE THE ANDOSITY TO SAY THAT THERE IS NO GOD
D. The tongue has a tip
The tongue has back
The tongue has a root
E. Each part does different things
F. God created
he knew each part
he knew what each part was for
as he created or thought about creating man, he thought abouyt
each interrelated part
each complicated facet of the tongue
G. Scriptures
Genesis 1:1 ESV
In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.
Genesis 1:26 ESV
Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”
H. He created man in his own image and included each part with a purpose in mind
I. He knew that the tongue could either be a gift or a curse
II. Gift or Curse
IS IT A GIFT OR A CURSE

the tongue can either start wars or end them
make or break

His Children
His creation
F. He created man in his own image
when he spoke something happened
he knew the power of this organ
he gave this power to man in creation
and further full authorization in Matt.
G. He knew what he was doing
H. He knew the complications it would make
understand as your read the bible
what this means
the implications
the tongue is a tremendous muscle
one created before creation with a purpose
God knew its purpose
He created it for a reason
To glorify Him
to use the power to glorify his name

Words of love
words of authority
words of power
H. Doesnt want us to advance the kingdom
I. satan wants our words to be negative
Contradictory to the HS
instead of:
I am the head and not the tail
I am above and not beneath
Im a lender and not a borrower
i am a leader and not a follower
in essence satan wants you to speak the opposite
he wants you to focus on the negative

Story of Jesus and the fig tree
matt 11:
Matthew 11:23–25 ESV
And you, Capernaum, will you be exalted to heaven? You will be brought down to Hades. For if the mighty works done in you had been done in Sodom, it would have remained until this day. But I tell you that it will be more tolerable on the day of judgment for the land of Sodom than for you.” At that time Jesus declared, “I thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that you have hidden these things from the wise and understanding and revealed them to little children;
Mark 11:23–25 ESV
Truly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says will come to pass, it will be done for him. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. And whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone, so that your Father also who is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.”
words
have power and authority
your words
have power and authority
when God spoke
something happened
And so when you speak
something happens
See when you speak you are prophesying to the atmosphere
you are giving authorization to a thing
either positive or negative
you are giving that thing authorization to manifest in your life
Just like there are messengers for your good, there are demons assigned for your destruction
So it is what you speak that manifests
YOUR WORDS HAVE POWER
TO MAKE
TO BERAK
TO DESTROY
OR CREATE
That power resides in you thanks to the shed blood of the lord Jesus Christ.
you may have never really of thought about it that way
but it is very important that we are conscious of the words that we speak
For life and death are in the power of the tongue
God gives you the power that you need
God gave you that power
and he knew what he was doing
even though he knew what was going to happen he still did it
it is in that little member that that power resides
And in mark 11 it reminds us of the authority given to us
truly i say to you, whoever says to this mountain, be thou removed
the word mountain in this scripture represents a jewish metaphor for the impossible
So what you mind sees as an impossibility, the spirit gives you the power of it becoming a possibility
Your words have power
But we must tame and take control of that small member
its small but it has a big bite
and without the taming of the spirit
the tongue is a fire, a world of unrighteousness
and what that does is set on fire the whole coarse of life
and in your own power you cannot tame that member
only the HS can do that
it is with that same member in which we speak both cursing and blessing
it is with that same little member that we kiss the ones that we love
I want you to think about something
are your unverbalized words still words
are our thoughts still words?
You must let the HS reside in you
tame that memeber
speak blessing
for it is that as your speak you prophesy to the atmosphere
and what is around
what hears can do nothing but obey
and as you declare a thing it shall manifest
